BUFFALO SHINES!When the Extreme Makeover Home Edition staff selected a family to help in Buffalo, they didn't know what they'd gotten into. Instead of gladly, passively accepting the opportunity, instead the homeowner said her entire neighborhood needed help, and if they couldn't be helped she couldn't accept help either.
When it was all over, her house was replaced and 70 other homes in the neighborhood had been significantly improved, and... there was a new park in the neighborhood.
The program staff just raved! They said they'd never seen anything like it. And they'd never seen anything like the generosity and volunteerism of the community, coming out to help. No wonder they call it "The City of Good Neighbors."
The story grew so big, that ABC decided to dedicate two hours to telling it. The first hour will be about the primary project, the second about the neighborhood. ABC affiliates, 8-10PM EST.
