All Hail Coach Gill! In three seasons, from worst to Bowl!
Upon
his arrival at UB in 2005 Coach Gill told his players, "believe in
things not yet seen," and "UB now stands for You Believe." His first
goal was to eradicate the culture of defeat. He told his players,
"Continue your swagger." He told them, "Never quit. Compete to the
end." He instituted "Story Time." Everyone on the team , players and
coaches alike, was required to stand up in front of the group and tell
their life story. Gill says he wanted to team to get to know each other
"at a deeper level." And the it happened...

- Beat Temple on a Hail Mary
- 14 Point Comeback Against Army
- Beat Akron in 4 OT's
- Rallied from 20 points down with 13:16 to beat Bowling Green in 2 OT's
- Upset undefeated Ball State 42-24 for MAC Championship
